Having grown up in a foodie household, Simon Holst inherited a passion for food and cooking. He co-authored over 40 cookbooks with his mother Alison, and nine of his own. To date combined book sales are over 2 million copies. In addition to writing books, Simon contributed to various New Zealand newspapers magazines and his own blog, performed ‘live’ cooking demonstrations, and appeared regularly on TVNZ’s “Good Morning” Show. The general focus of this work was producing practical and delicious family food with a minimum of fuss. After more than 20 years of writing, Simon decided it was time for a change. For the last four years he has applied his skills and experience in the food industry as a Senior Advisor at New Zealand Food Safety. When he's not working Simon enjoys spending time with his wife and family, pottering around the house and garden, or, better still, holidaying at the beach!
