Professor Paul Rouse PhD MCom (Hons) BCom CA
Paul started his experience in health as an administrative cadet for the Auckland Hospital Board in 1969 and after completing his MCom at the University of Auckland in 1973, moved to London to work in a variety of commercial, professional and academic organisations. Returning to NZ in 1987, he has worked in the Department of Accounting and Finance at the University of Auckland completing his PhD in 1997. He has consulted for several organisations including the Health Funding Authority, Auckland DHB, Ministry of Health, ACC, MSD and Treasury. He was actively involved in the National Pricing Project and work around the tertiary allocation for DHBs. He has worked for almost 20 years on health funding systems with a particular focus on case mix and resourcing pathways of care. He is a member of CAANZ and the NZ Operations Research Society.
