Michael has been involved in the aged care industry for over 20 years, including previously held positions as CEO at Presbyterian Support Otago and Presbyterian Support South Canterbury.
Presbyterian Support Southland operates aged residential care facilities across Southland covering rest home, hospital, dementia and psychogeriatric levels of care along with retirement villages, rental accommodation and community support for older people.
Alongside their involvement in the aged care sector, PSS also provide significant social services support for the wider community.
Michael is passionate about supporting the wider aged care and social services sector in general and the work that providers do to meet the needs of our vulnerable communities.

Dan Ormond works closely with the NZACA to formulate its media and political campaigns. He coordinated the 2017 and 2020 NZACA election Campaigns as well as managing its media presence and targeted campaigns such as the ongoing call for fair pay for aged care nurses. The NZACA needs the support of its members when lobbying on the issues that matter the most to the sector. In this session you will hear from Dan how to harness the power of your experience when speaking to media or with MPs and officials.
Dan will be joined by Michael Parker, CEO Presbyterian Support Southland, an active member in the Southland region who will provide a prime example of effective lobbying in action.
