Jill has over 30 years’ experience in the health sector as a clinician, academic and researcher. Formerly at Massey University where she was Associate Head of School in nursing, she is now working as a research fellow at Victoria University Wellington and as a senior policy analyst at the New Zealand Nurses Organisation. Jill’s doctoral degree focussed on the introduction of the nurse practitioner role in New Zealand. Ongoing research interests have been connected to advanced nursing roles, safe prescribing practice, and more recently, to the application of restorative practices in healthcare settings. Jill is an advisor to the Board of Te Aro Health Centre, a nurse practitioner-led clinic which provides services to low income and often homeless people in Wellington’s inner city.
