Simon Bridges is the MP for Tauranga and Leader of the National Party.
In the last National-led Government, Simon held several Ministerial roles including Labour, Energy, Transport, Communications, and Economic Development so he knows the importance of a strong economy. Prior to standing for Parliament, Simon was a senior Crown Prosecutor in the District and High Courts in Tauranga. He graduated from the University of Auckland, completing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History and a Bachelor of Laws with Honours. He later completed a Bachelor of Civil Law at the University of Oxford, where he met his wife Natalie.
Simon has been an MP since 2008 and he and Natalie live in Tauranga with their young family.
