Deborah Witheford is a project manager for the Aged Residential Care programme at the Health Quality & Safety Commission (the Commission) in New Zealand. Deborah has a background in nursing, education and project management. Prior to joining the Commission she worked in the Clinical Service Improvement team at Bupa Australia & New Zealand where she collaborated on a range of national projects. These included the implementation of interRAI; the roll out of an electronic medication management system; a leadership programme for clinical managers; and a quality improvment training initiative for clinicians. Deborah has a longstanding passion for developing the workforce at all levels, to improve confidence and competence for the delivery of quality care.
