Panellist: Diversity and inclusion in the workplace panel

Over the last 15 years Fi has worked to assist industry, Economic Development Agencies and employers with the attraction, settlement and retention of skilled migrant staff. In her current role as a Relationship Manager for Immigration New Zealand (INZ) Migrant Skills Retention in Otago and Southland Fi has been working closely with the Otago Presbyterian Support Enliven Group and she is well aware of the challenges facing the aged care industry. Fi has a particular interest in the Irish Aged Care model and has worked closely with Stephenie Leith, Manager of Enliven Group Aged Care Facility Iona to pilot some of the practices used in Ireland. They have together, also developed their own practices. The NZ based pilot focuses on approaches to address high attrition rates, cultural difference and low interaction between New Zealand and international workforce. It has also included the development of two four-hour workplace workshops.
Fi has worked in both local and central government. Prior to joining INZ, Fi was a Business Development Advisor within Dunedin City Council’s Economic Development Unit. Her role focused on international workforce attraction and settlement.
